Species : laboratory mouse
Strain Type : COI (coisogenic strain),MSR (mutant strain)
Mutant Type : TG (Transgenic)
Other Names :
Background Strain : NOD/Sytwu
Strain Description : 1. cDNA of Ptpn22 is derived from NOD mouse splenocytes and subcloned into downstream of mouse distal Lck promoter.
2. dLck-HA-Ptpn22 is microinjected in to one-cell NOD embryos.
3. Ptpn22 is expressed mainly in lymphoid organs, such as the thymus, spleens, and PLNs.
4. The transgenic mice had a significantly lower incidence of spontaneous autoimmune diabetes, which was accompanied by fewer IFN-γ-producing T cells, and an increased ratio of CD4+Foxp3+ Tregs to CD4+INF-γ+or CD8+INF-γ+T cells, respectively, in pancreatic islets.
5. Decrease in number and pathogenic features of pancreas-infiltrating cells in this transgenic strain.
