Strain Description ：
1.  The transgenic mouse model was designed to study pulmonary tumorigenesis mechanisms via lung-specific, ectopic expression of human vascular endothelial growth factor A165 (hVEGF-A165) under the control of a mouse Clara cell-specific protein (Mccsp) promoter. A Deposit Application Form－NCB-TS-4-001-D-04 1975-bp transgene fragment, consisting of mCCSP promoter, hVEGF-A165 cDNA, and SV40 poly(A) signal sequence, was directly microinjected into pronuclear-stage mouse embryos, which were then transferred into the fallopian tubes of recipient females. The offspring were maintained in an FVB background.
2.  Significant lung abnormalities, including bronchial inflammation, fibrosis, cyst formation, and adenoma development, are positively correlate with the transgene expression level that observed in transgenic mice at 12 months of age
3.  The Mccsp-VegfA165 transgenic mouse model provides a useful model for studying VEGF activities including enhanced inflammatory response with the recruitment of inflammatory cells and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, as well as increased angiogenesis in the tumor microenvironment that eventually leads to the formation of pulmonary adenocarcinoma.
