Strain Description ：
1.  TheloxP-flanked neo gene was inserted into the intron 1 of the Cyp11a1 gene, which caused impaired Cyp11a1 expression. Only 1% of CYP11A1 was able to be detected in adrenal and gonad. This strain has been backcrossed to C57BL/6 for more than ten generation.
2.  Homozygous male Cyp11a1 mutant mice are feminized with female external genitalia and underdeveloped male accessory sex organs. Their testis, epididymis, and vas deferens are present, but undersized. In addition, their adrenals and gonads accumulate excessive amounts of lipid. The lack of steroid production, abnormal gene expression, and aberrant reproductive organ development.
